This training offers clinicians a grounded, relational, clinical approach to working with traumatic grief. Participants will explore how trauma and grief intersect, how traumatic loss uniquely impacts neurobiology and attachment, and how to remain ethically present without rushing, fixing, or overwhelming clients. This training is designed for both early-career and seasoned clinicians, this training emphasizes how to be with traumatic grief while integrating evidence-based frameworks and practical clinical tools.

 

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this course, participants will:

  1. Differentiate traumatic grief from normative grief responses using a trauma-informed and attachment-based framework;
  2. Identify neurobiological and relational impacts of traumatic loss and apply this understanding to clinical assessment and treatment planning;
  3. Demonstrate clinical strategies for pacing, containment, and psychological safety when working with individuals experiencing traumatic grief;
  4. Integrate relational, somatic, and narrative approaches to support healing while minimizing reenactment and harm;
  5. Apply ethical considerations and self-regulation strategies to sustain clinician well-being and effectiveness in grief-informed practice.
